4 months!

We Are Pregnant!!!!

So for the first post we thought we would announce the reason we started a blog :) As of today I am 17.5 weeks pregnant. Last week we found out we are having a boy! We are so excited! As most of you know it has been a long time coming so we feel very grateful, blessed, and privileged to be able to announce this news with confidence. We have posted a few photos from last week's ultrasound. And as you can see it is DEFINETLY a boy ;) Andy is very proud!!!
As for me, I have been extremely lucky during this pregnancy, I have felt great! A little tried, of course, but no sickness. I am still teaching classes and personal training. I have had to modify teaching and my own workouts to keep my heart rate low per doctor's orders, but I have been able to stay fairly active.
Andy has been working in Ashland, Oregon full time since January. He is the Technology Operations Manager for a start-up company named Brammo that is designing and manufacturing an electric motorcycle called the Enertia. He returns home almost every weekend, which has helped a lot. But it has been extremely difficult for both of us. Because the nearest "large" town, Medford, is still quite small my doctor did not want me to move until after the baby is born because I am considered high risk and they just don't have all the facilities that may be necessary for the delivery. I was diagnosed with a genetic blood clotting disorder in October, so during pregnancy I have to receive injections of Heparin, a medication that inhibits clotting, twice daily. Because of the medication there is an increased chance of pre term delivery. So if the baby was born pre mature in Medford, the baby would be flown to either Portland or San Francisco, which is a 4 hour drive. So we decided for me to stay in Phoenix and him to commute. Not ideal, but best for the future.
So we welcome you to our blog, and hope you stop by frequently to check up on the pregnancy and any other tid bits of life we post.
